Kathmandu – One person trapped inside the tunnel of the Upper Trishuli 3 ‘A’ Hydroelectric Project has been successfully rescued alive. The rescue team managed to safely bring out Sanjay Sah from the tunnel. Following his rescue, efforts have intensified to locate and safely extract the remaining individuals trapped inside.
According to the rescued individual and technical sources, there are strong indications that more people inside the tunnel are still alive. Continuous rescue efforts were underway due to the tunnel entrance being buried by floods and landslides for an extended period, making the operation challenging for security and technical teams.
Currently, a joint team comprising the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police is actively engaged in the search and rescue operations to free those still trapped. The rescue teams are employing various technical tools to expedite the operation and ensure the remaining workers and technicians are brought out safely as soon as possible.
